In the beginning, there was nothing but a half-shadow, the silver thread of dreams leftover from the night before.
We looked at red sunlight through closed eyes, accepting our forgotten faith of tunnels and abandoned trainyards. It wasn't until the pavement ceased to belong to the Earth, that it seemed to me the sky was moving.
