Batman is my favorite superhero.
The setting, the characters and the grittiness of Gotham (based on "Manhattan below 14th street") appealed to me more so than any other comic. I think it's due to my Long Island City upbringing, where I always had a view of the early 1990's NYC skyline. I would come home from school and watch Batman: The Animated Series, surrounded by the older New York that resonated with Bruce Wayne's world.The city today is so different, that there are no longer any remnants of the Caped Crusader--save for the rare searchlight every so often.
Which is why it was cool to come across this the other night:
A little OD, but definitely appreciated! It was debadged in the back as well (couldn't get a pic of the art on the rear lid).
